Maybe its a ploy, to monopolize the industry for a few key players in the industry with medical only regulations, raising prices due to lower supply. To have a medical card and draw revenue from issuing that.

Very dumb decision i’m not a user but to recriminalize cannabis is a terrible idea Alcohol is legal and can be purchased at 7/11 everywhere but does far more damage to society than cannabis

What is the current state of affairs re buying weed? Are the shops open? Are prescriptions being written? There are a lot of comments in other YouTube videos of people claiming to be in Thailand saying the shops are open and selling and nothing has changed. Other comments are saying there is an enforcement pause to allow the shops to get licensed to sell medically. I will be there in about a week and would like to partake legally.

All that personal investment, all those loans and all those jobs… gone. As if the stagnant wages weren’t enough coupled with the personal debt crisis they create another reason to distrust the government oversight. Where I live in SriRacha we have already seen 25% of our neighborhood shops closing in 2025 and NONE of them are weed shops. Feels like bad economic times are on the way.

Perhaps the Thai government is counting on that, like in Europe, these soon to be empty commercial spaces will be filled with Indian restaurants and Kurdish barbershops.

My soi just got back on its feet from covid.
One guy JUST OPENED his shop about a week before this announcement after refurbishing the place and buying signage.
