Baseball fans in Tokyo celebrated yet another Japanese MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani’s great achievement after he won his third Most Valuable Player award, this time picking up his first in the National League, on Friday.
People in front of Yurakucho station near Ginza, one of most famous shopping districts in Japan, rushed to pick up special Friday morning newspaper editions reporting on Ohtani’s achevement.
The Yomiuri Shimbun prepared 500 copies to be distributed in front of the station, but they were all gone in less than 30 minutes.
