Legend has it, all the women in the front row were immediately pregnant after those throws
People gave him shit saying he doesnt deserve MVP cause he didnt play outfield but most other hitters, including Judge and Lindor wouldve have been playing at all if they got Tommy John surgery, but Shohei was still hitting while recovering and better then anyone else.
This wasn’t even a jacked Shohei, he’s bigger stronger and faster now.
Shohei is a 10-way player.
All 9 positions and Designated Hitter
I hate when people count this season as a legitimate 50/50 season and say Ohtani is the most talented player in baseball history. Hes good. but since MLB made the bases the size of pizza boxes it is waaaaaay easier to steal bases. Ohtani went from 26 sb as a creer high to 59. Imagine moving the outfield fence in 10 feet in every stadium and throwing a parade for Judge when he hits 80 hr next season. it counts but should come with an asterisk. Can we stop pretending like Ohtani is Ricky henderson? If the bases had been this big 20 years ago bonds could have done 70/70. Arod would have done 40/70 himself.
Ohtani’s potential career with the Dodgers:
Year 1: Just a DH ✅
Year 2: pitcher + DH
Year 3: catcher
Year 4: 1st baseman
Year 5: 2nd baseman
Year 6: 3rd baseman
Year 7: left outfield
Year 8: center outfield
Year 9: right outfield
Year 10: shortop
Goat.
Yes it is true that Ohtani plyayed the outfield positions, right and left, and all of Japanese fans witnessed him throwing a gun shot ball to out three-base runners and home base runners. He even hit a big fly home run, which went through the roof of Tokyo Dome. He is basically all-round baseball players, not just two-way player but multi-way player.
Someday when the current Dodger lineup ages I think Shohei would be a corner outfielder
