If Ohtani gets hurt, that could limit his ability to pitch again(ever). The question, is he worth as a 70million dollar DH for the rest of his contract?
What is Scott drinking or smoking?! He’s forgetting how much money the Dodgers have invested in Ohtani. They’ll be taking a LONG TERM view regarding his use, they won’t be sacrificing the long term potential benefits for one short-term benefit
AJ is an athlete he knows what it takes to play in playoffs. Scott, do you remember what you said when glasnow went on IL? It’s time to stop bringing up nonsense purposely.
This is such a non-story
If we still see him throwing at this time in the playoffs, there is a chance that he may be called to pitch.
For a player who reached his peak at the same time as Shohei Ohtani, he must be really annoying
IF…IF…IF he does it, and I don’t necessarily think he should, he should be an opener. You don’t lose him as the DH. He pitches an inning or two, and then you bring in Knack, so by the time he has faced the opposing order two times, you need fewer relievers. Could you see Knack not having to face Soto and Judge in the first inning? He could get settled in against the back of the order, and then have to face the big guns. I am not advocating it, but I think that is the only way that would make sense in the situation.
And Scott has been an Ohtani hater all season right up there with Jon Heyman, Chris Russo and Mike Wilbon and no use risking the current greatest player in MLB. Just listen to Scott saying he would take Shohei pitch an inning and throw away all next season. He’s a clown
I’m with AJ. Why risk blowing out his elbow for 1-2 innings with no live prep and working his arm out properly.
