And if you win the world series I’d drop Roberts anyway. It would be a good time to seek a serious upgrade. Justin Turner should be retiring and his leadership qualities are incredibly strong.
If they get Glasnow back the starting rotation should be okay with a full bullpen complement. I’m more worried about Freeman’s fighting spirit this year and his focus on the baseball when he’s hitting. But i like Flaherty,Knack,Yamamoto, and probably Glasnow maybe. I like Wrobleski alot if he’s focused on obliterating every playoff team they face . Kershaw’s looking pretty iffy this year. I’m leaning on shutting him down until next year. Buehler also. I like the idea of that kid in the minors throwing 102mph plus. And a full bullpen complement ready to go like it’s spring training once the calender turns to October. And potentially a reliever rotation for each playoff round. I also like dropping Kiermaier ,Kike ,and Taylor for more offense in the playoffs! I would have to drop Kiermaier and slot in Rushing and Pages more in postseason play. It’s smarter to increase offensive potential with the offensive capabilities of so many teams out there this year and nearly every playoff team in the NL. Even the Cubs offense looks pretty good right now! But the pressure in the postseason this year will be extra intense with the killer offenses of San Diego,Arizona, and Philly. I like Stone in the rotation too if he comes back in October. What I don’t like is the team thinking the players coming off the IL need any sort of warm up before the postseason. As long as they’re fresh physically and mentally reasy to start a season before the playoffs they don’t need to wear themselves out before the playoffs at all in most cases if they’re veterans especially. As long as they’re mentally acclimated to the majors and don’t have tunnel vision when the pressure starts immediately almost as the playoffs begin. You should get ready for the playoffs now while you still have three weeks to prepare. Do your heavy lifting now on offense and a little more as soon as the regular season ends and five days before the NLDS starts. Work on fundamentals and situations . And the mental game . Think about the pressure alot. And all that pressure you’re gonna face in October. All the crushing unrelenting pressure the Dodgers will see when October comes for you. To take you out! Prepare for it!
Only ever Lindor pitch & stealing Bases,& hit homers .. probably Never happen from me ,but Only then I might vote for Lindor Lol (NL MVP only belong to vLA Dodgers ・Shohei Ohtani ✅ NO for Mets Lindor
I can see bullpen games every game in October or almost every game. And starting pitchers in long relief roles to eat innings. You could really mix up openers or starting pitchers to open games. And go ahead and ride the bullpen hard in October more often. I would try to preserve them whenever possible but if the entire pitching staff is well rested at 100% or as close to that as possible then they could potentially handle a short twenty game sprint in the playoff run. Especially in recent years where teams had so many extra off days to prepare for the tournament stage.
Well hopefully they’re faking Banda’s injury and he’ll be ready for the postseason. I envision a bullpen game for the Dodgers in the postseason with limited starters trying to go five innings. Maybe an extra inning or two out of Flaherty here and there. I like Knack’s heart too. I think he has a chance of doing good in the playoffs. Yamamoto could handle five innings maybe if he induces more double play grounders and fly outs. Strikeouts are nice situationally throughout a game but Yamamoto’s pitch counts rise quickly if he’s relying on too much swing and miss with his smaller pitching frame and physical build. Yamamoto is pretty good but he needs t learn more about how to improve his game planning with hitters situationally. He’s in a different league now with differences in hitters on average,a slight uptick in competition level , and things like baseball size differences and mound heighth. He has strengths too but he should tweak his game plan more . And needs to learn a few things he doesn’t know so well or at all possibly.
I was surprised the Cards gave Edman up. He’s known for his clutch hitting and numerous game winning hits! Occasionally he’s been known to carry the entire offense.
Miller is a breaking ball type of pitcher and should throw that more . His fastball is more of a reverse velocity changeup that needs to be located. He needs to work on some things in the minors and during the offseason.
4 HRs in 2 games from (Shohei) Ohtommy Edman!!
