If he is ready, then let him pitch. Doesn’t matter if it is post season or next season. Injuries can happen anytime. You can’t eliminate an injury just because you save him for next season.
First if all, the pitching is shaky. A team must have solid starters that can est up innings and we don’t have that. Our bullpen is also shaky.
With so many injuries, i have my doubts about the medical staff.
It’s not looking good with the pitching staff in the post season, so why risk you Holy cow when the previous are shaky. That’s just my view in my humble opinion.
So no, don’t rush him
The Manager is setting up a seed of doubt in the other NL playoff teams. By just saying Shohei is a possible pitcher, the potential opponents will have to use their resources and time to make up a game plan just in case Shohei pitches. That’s one of the jobs as a manager, to keep the other teams guessing.

Just because he said he might pitch. It doesn’t mean he actually will pitch.
As much as I love the idea from a certain point of view, what I don’t get is why nobody has talked about how he might not even pitch well at first. He’d have missed over a year. I mean, we all know the ace that Walker Buehler was, but look at how he’s struggled this year. Shohei might not necessarily come back and be himself right away.
Robert’s nose grows about an inch every time he opens his mouth!
I don’t expect the Dodgers making much noise in the post season. I hope I’m wrong.
Rookie of the Year. Two-time MVP. And this season, he is making history as the leading contender for MVP as a DH.
If he returns to pitching the year after his TJ surgery, he will make even more unprecedented history. However, in reality, the chances of this happening are extremely low, as he needs to be fully prepared to return from rehabilitation.
He probably wants to pitch in postseason
