British media has exposed a group of Thai criminals hiding on Samui Island, targeting backpackers to smuggle cannabis. This follows an incident where a British tourist was arrested in Georgia with cannabis from Thailand. The report reveals that British tourists are offered 87,000 baht per person, along with luxurious accommodations in Thailand, to transport cannabis.
The Isra News Agency (www.israenews.org) reported, citing British media, that the UK government has issued a warning to British backpackers—travelers known as “backpackers”—to be vigilant about Thai criminal networks targeting them to use as drug trafficking mules.
