Thailand to Require Medical Certificates for Cannabis Use
Thailand is preparing to roll out new cannabis laws requiring all users—both Thai nationals and foreigners—to obtain a medical certificate. The move is intended to shift cannabis use back to its originally intended medical purpose after a wave of recreational use followed the 2022 decriminalisation. Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsutin confirmed that these changes will be enforced within 40 days, signalling a stricter regulatory framework. The law will also introduce penalties for non-compliance and require licences for all cannabis businesses. While recreational use won’t be entirely banned due to political pressures, the direction is clear: cannabis in Thailand is moving firmly into the healthcare space.

I am NOT into marijuana or drugs at all, but this will def have a big effect on their businesses, and tourism
More bullshit hot air from clueless idiots.
This will be a shame if it comes to pass. I had started to make plans to take my first trip to Thailand in no small part thanks to the fact that I could relax with a j at night without having to worry about it. It is a big attractor and without that it’s just a lot more travel expense for a holiday I could take closer.
It doesn’t feel safe to plan a holiday to Thailand for someone like me with people in the Thai government demanding radical changes in such short spaces of time that could so negatively effect my holiday.
This site also posted in 2023 it was to immediately be listed as a narcotic!!!…. knee jerk again..
This is click bait!! He cannot enforce this without legislation!…… its a simply commentary from one minister
